April 25 – 29, 2011 After our week of errands and repairs we were pretty pumped up for our stay in Zion. We had made reservations for 4 nights all the way back in early March to make sure that we could get in. That turned out to be a good decision as the campground [...]

April 17 – 25, 2011 As we were planning the trip across Utah we had our eye on St. George as our final stop. Ever since we had our first overheating issue coming out of New Mexico we knew we wanted to reach civilization at some point in order to get that resolved. St. George [...]

We ended up in Escalante at the Broken Bow RV Park after deciding that if the forecast for the area was going to be highs in the 30′s and snow we would rather be plugged in to electric and running our space heater than totally unplugged in Capitol Reef. Not to mention, if we were [...]

After leaving Dead Horse we had our shortest travel day ever, thirty miles down the road to OK RV Park just south of Moab. We originally thought that after Dead Horse we would be leaving the area, probably headed towards Capitol Reef, but since we spent almost all of our time at Dead Horse exploring [...]

Dead Horse Point State Park sits on top of its mesa just to the west of Moab Utah surrounded by 2000 foot cliffs falling off down to the Colorado river. The origin of the name is not agreed upon but obviously has to do with some dead horses. The version that I read was that [...]

From City of Rocks our first real stay was Dead Horse State Park, thirty miles or so outside of Moab, Utah. Quite a ways from City of Rocks, 575 miles, so we planned to make the trip in three days. Our first day was from City of Rocks up to St. Johns, Arizona. Total travel [...]
