That’s me, Brent, 1/2 of Horton’s travelers. I’ll likely write most of the posts here, although Christine may surprise us all. I grew up in North Carolina before moving to Auburn, Alabama for school. After stretching that out for as long as I could I graduated, moved to Atlanta and entered the working world. Since then I’ve spent 12 years in the software industry consulting and building software for various companies up until co-founding my current company.

Outside of work I enjoy photography, hiking, motorcycles and most recently kayaking. We’ve decided to leave the motorcycle behind for this trip but I plan on indulging in the rest of those activities as much as I can. I’ll post photos here on HortonsTravels but if you are so inclined you can find more of my work here and here.

This is Christine, the best part of Horton’s travelers. Christine grew up in Ohio before following her sister’s footsteps down to Auburn. We met there in our senior year. Christine was studying sculpture and graphic design and I was fascinated to just watch her create the things she imagined. Somehow I convinced her to move to Atlanta with me and she likewise entered the work world. Christine spent her years in design agencies and software shops designing and focusing on user experience.

Luckily, we share many of the same interests that we can pursue while on the trip. Christine also enjoys hiking and kayaking but she leaves the photography to me. Truthfully, its hard to even get her to be in a photo. That fact should become perfectly evident as time goes by.

We began our trip with these two boys. They unfortunately are no longer with us, you can see more details on Derby and Foster on their life posts Christine put together after we lost them. We miss our boys everyday.

That’s the crew. We hope you’ll stick around and join us for the journey.
