Well, 2011 has come and gone much faster than we would have thought possible. We started our journey on January 2nd leaving our home in Marietta heading south for Florida. From there we kept a southern route while making our way to the west through Louisiana, Texas and New Mexico. We jumped up north a bit to get to Utah and some cold weather before turning back west and hitting the Sierra Nevada mountains in California. From there we made our way north and a little east as the weather allowed visiting Nevada, Idaho, Wyoming and Montana. We then left the states for a few weeks in Alberta and British Columbia Canada before coming back into the US in Washington. We raced the cold and rain south from there, touring the coast of Washington, the middle of Oregon and back to the Pacific in California. We finished out the year soaking up sunny skies and sometimes warmth in the deserts of southern California.

Looking at the map we’re struck both by how much of the country we’ve seen in the past year as well as a how very much space is left on the map without any little blue markers. Will we get to fill in some of that empty space during 2012? Stick around to find out, you’ll know as soon as we do!
